Trio arrested after Lynchburg armed home invasion and robbery

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Lynchburg police have arrested three people in connection to a home invasion and robbery that happened in late October.

On October 27, police responded to C Street in Lynchburg for a home invasion and robbery.

Three people reportedly entered a residence and held the homeowner at gunpoint. He was violently assaulted and then multiple items were stolen. He was tied up before the suspects left, according to police.

The department's Criminal Investigations Division began a month-long investigation and with the assistance of the Field Operations Bureau and people in that area, several suspects were developed.

On November 18, Suntrese R. Wheeler, 29, of Lynchburg, was arrested.

On November 21, Derrick L. Campbell, 36, of Lynchburg, was arrested.

Lastly, on November 30, Jason J. Berkley, 30, of Pamplin, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals and Lynchburg Police in Amherst, Virginia.

All three suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary, robbery, two counts of using of a firearm in the commission of a felony and kidnapping.

All three suspects are being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg without bond.

The U.S. Marshals Service from Lynchburg, Charlottesville and Roanoke were instrumental in the capture of Berkley.
