Tractor-trailer accident blocks I-64 east lanes in Rockbridge County


Update 12:59 p.m: Police say the road is open.

ROCKBRIDGE County (WSLS 10) – Police say a tractor-trailer accident has caused a shutdown on I-64 East in Rockbridge County.

The truck turned over on the highway at 5:04 a.m., according to police.

VDOT reports a one-mile backup at mile marker 41 near the Goshen exit.

Police say the tractor-trailer overturned and workers could not be move the truck until it was unloaded.

There have been no reports of injuries.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted onto Route 850 at mile marker 35 and back onto I-64 at mile marker 43.
