Roanoke County gearing up for first ever Christmas parade

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - In less than two weeks, Roanoke County will hold its first ever Christmas parade.

Both the cities of Roanoke and Salem, as well as the town of Vinton have held one for a number of years, so businesses in the county thought it was time Roanoke County had one of its own.

Sponsored by Roanoke Valley Community Credit Union, the Brambleton Area Business Association organized the parade, which will happen on Brambleton Avenue.

"It will be good for the area, good for the community and good for the kids in the area. It will bring everybody together and have a sense of excitement," said BABA Presdient Michael Shelton.

The parade takes place December 10 at 10 a.m. and will begin at Harris Street and end on Garst Mill Road.
