WYTHEVILLE (WSLS 10) - The town of Wytheville is working to bring a craft brewery to a historic building downtown.
The 22,000 square-foot building has been vacant for more than a decade.
Owners are working to bring in a brewery as an economic anchor for the area, but they would also like to see several restaurants and even retail shops join the brewery inside the building.
"To have a brewery in this facility, a facility that's large enough to accommodate several types of businesses that can be consumer-oriented and also tourism-oriented, is an opportunity to create a destination," said building owner Bill Smith.
A crossfit startup has already committed to setting up shop in the back in a few weeks.
