Liberty Hires Ex-Baylor AD

Lynchburg (WSLS-10 SPORTS)- Ian McCaw has been hired as Liberty's new athletic director.

He replaces Jeff Barber, who resigned on November 18th. The move comes six months after McCaw's resignation from Baylor university as their athletic director.  That after being sanctioned and placed on probation-when the University's athletic teams became embroiled in a sexual assault scandal.

"As far as Baylor goes my prayer for Baylor has been for healing.  I just think it is a very difficult situation.  I wish them the very best.  Some of the finest people if I've known my entire life are associated with the University and I wish them well, " explains McCaw.

"I spoke with the Regents-- that's what they call the Trustees there at Baylor who could not say enough good things about this man's character, his integrity and just everyone and we spoke with gave him the highest recommendation," says Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr.

In 13 years at Baylor, the school won four national championships and 56 Big 12 crowns.
