Alleghany High School girls basketball coach killed in car crash

ALLEGHANY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Alleghany High School students and teachers are mourning the loss of own of their own. Alleghany High School girls basketball coach Danny Keene was killed Sunday in a car crash according to principal Dwayne Ross.

Ross said police told him the other driver crossed the line and hit Coach Keene's car. Ross did not provide any other details about the wreck.

Keene had coached the Mountaineers' girls varsity program for 24 years said Ross.

Alleghany was scheduled to open the 2016-17 season at home Monday against James River. That game has been postponed.
