(WSLS 10) - Roanoke's Valley View Mall and Lynchburg River Ridge Mall will remain closed today. Both malls will open at 6 a.m. on Friday. Corporate owner CBL and Associates says it wants to bring the excitement of Black Friday Shopping back. Stores with outside entrances may still open today, but access to interior common areas will not be available.

Get your exercise in before eating your Thanksgiving feast at the Turkey Trot in Lynchburg. Proceeds from the race benefit HumanKind which provides services that foster social, mental and financial well-being for families. The fun run and walk begins at 8 a.m. E.C. Glass High School.

The annual Fashions for Evergreens kicks off today at the Hotel Roanoke. More than 30 trees have been decorated by different organizations. You can stop by the hotel and vote for your favorite by making a donation. The money raised will benefit the United Way of Roanoke Valley. Over the last five years, more than $20,000 has been raised. The trees will remain on display through January 2nd.

Free two hour parking starts today in downtown Lynchburg. You can park in city owned lots and parking decks through January 1st. If you plan to stay for more than two hours, you will have to pay for that time. City leaders hope the free parking program will bring more people downtown to support local businesses.
