2 injured, 2 pets dead in Fairfax County fire

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Two people have been hospitalized and two pets are dead after a Fairfax County fire.

WTOP-FM reports (http://bit.ly/2gb8sL9 ) that Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department crews responded at about 5:30 a.m. to the 6300 block of Villa Lane to fight the blaze.

Two of the four people who escaped from the home suffered smoke inhalation and were hospitalized. Five dogs were inside the house when it caught fire, and three were able to escape.

The Red Cross is assisting the survivors and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
