Martinsville company helping BBBS in Danville teach kids about STEM

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) – Big Brothers Big Sisters in Danville will be able to teach kids about science, technology, engineering, and math in a new way thanks to a local food company.

The organization is getting $1,000 from Monogram Foods in Martinsville to take kids to Virginia Beach to learn about the ocean.

The kids will also visit the Virginia Beach Aquarium and do STEM-related activities.

“Have several interactive experiences, teaching them about the ecosystems, teaching them about the animals that live in each part of the environment,” said Danville BBBS Executive Director Pat Daniels.

A total of 14 organizations are receiving grant money from Monogram Foods.
