Antique appraisers roadshow held in Danville

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Some Danville community members now have a better idea about what some of their personal belongings may be worth.

An antique appraisers roadshow was held at Ballou Park on Thursday morning.

Local appraisers were on hand to value items.

People brought in everything from paintings and figurines to family heirlooms.

One couple had a large painting appraised, which turned out to be worth $400-500.

"We've had these things for a while, at least 10 years, and always wondered what their value was," said Beverly Hinkle after having her painting and some figurines appraised. "I had no idea what to expect. Art is kind of difficult to evaluate."

She and her husband plan to keep the painting for the time being.
