Teacher pushes child to safety in day care crash

WBBH – FT. MYERS, Fla. (WBBH) - A Florida daycare worker is being hailed a hero for getting several children to safety just moments before an out-of-control car slammed into the building.

It happened Monday morning at Rita's Daycare in Fort Myers.

Kids were outside playing when a car ran through a ditch, took out a fence, and crashed into this daycare center.

"As soon as I threw them back it hit, so all the babies started screaming," said teacher Enid Torres.

She was outside with the 1-year-olds when a car came barreling in.

The car drove right through the yard where children were playing before crashing into the daycare.
