Christiansburg Rescue Squad holds food drive for holidays

CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - The Christiansburg Rescue Squad is asking for help to make a difference for less fortunate families in the area.

The squad is holding a canned food drive from now until November 27.

Donations will go to the Montgomery County Christmas Store, which provides food for hungry families during the holidays.

The store said it is about 7,000 cans short of its goal for this time of year. The rescue squad is hoping to fill an entire ambulance with donations.

The christmas store's greatest needs are canned soups, vegetables and macaroni and cheese. It will open December 6th-10th.

Donations are accepted 24/7 at the Christiansburg Rescue Squad station.
