Hokies Focusing on Offensive Execution

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10 SPORTS) -

Virginia Tech's hopes of wrapping up the Coastal Division will be put on hold for another week. The team is now preparing for the first ever match up against Notre Dame where they're hoping to address the team's lack of offensive execution.

"Couple things technique wise just hasn't been as sharp as it needs to be", said first year coach Justin Fuente.

"That combined with with people adjusting and forcing us to adjust and then executing at the same level we have at times during the year has led to us not putting up the same numbers."

The Hokies are hoping to avoid a slow start this week like the one they had against Georgia Tech. But players say they're still confident this recent wave of offensive woes is something that's in their control.

"I think it's just us, we like to say that everything falls back on us. How we play will determine the outcome", said Isaiah Ford.

"We can do better at all positions there's no one person", stated fullback Sam Rogers.

"We still gotta look at ourselves in the mirror and see we got to do better and do that and just really just take a self check and just realize what we got to do moving forward."

The Irish are 7-3 in their last 10 games against the ACC. Hokies are going for their 8th win of the season. Kickoff set for 3:30 at Notre Dame.
