ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The chair of the Democratic National Committee will speak tonight at Hollins University in Roanoke County.

The well-known author, who has also been a commentator for CNN will discuss the current political outlook with a focus on social justice.

In 2009, O, The Oprah Magazine chose Brazile as one of its 20 "remarkable visionaries" for the magazine's first-ever O Power List. Brazile took over the DNC after the previous chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, was forced out in the wake of a DNC email hack revealing staffers appeared to favor Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders during the primary process.

She was also the subject of controversy later in the campaign, when hacked emails released by WikiLeaks suggested that Brazile had obtained some of the primary debate questions and passed them along to Clinton
