Danville group continuing effort to increase communication between city, community

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) – Members of Virginia Organizing are continuing their effort to create more communication between the city and the citizens.

A news conference was held on the steps of Danville city hall Monday evening as members discussed the meeting they had with the city manager and the police chief right before the news conference.

Issues such as the police department raising the hoods on police cars were discussed in an effort to identify ways to establish more communication between the city and the community.

“What was encouraged is that if we see a discrepancy or if we hear from residents that have an issue about something that’s going on to get in contact with the city manager or Police Chief Broadfoot and then we can have a more concise strategy,” explained Ebony Guy, a Virginia Organizing member.

The members plan to have another meeting in January.
