Two students, one driver injured after tractor-trailer crashes into school bus in Rocky Mount

Update 9:28 a.m.- Franklin County Schools released a statement about this morning's crash.

Administrators said "The bus was coming off of Wirtz Road and was hit, on the corner of the bus, by a tractor trailer truck.  Two students and the bus driver have been transported to the hospital and one student was taken to the hospital by their parent, all with non-life threatening injuries."

The county also says the remainder of the students have been taken to school.


UPDATE 8:14 a.m. - Authorities say Franklin County School Bus 14 was involved in the accident and there was no damage to the tractor-trailer.


ROCKY MOUNT (WSLS 10) - State Police say a tractor trailer hit a school bus in Rocky Mount near Plateau Plaza.

Virginia Police Sgt. Rick Garletts says the bus driver and one student are injured. It's unclear how many students were on the bus at the time.

This accident is near the Dairy Queen in the 20000 block of Virgil Goode Highway / Route 220.
