BALTIMORE (WRC) - Protesters have marched a few miles from north Baltimore to downtown to express displeasure with the election of Donald Trump as president.

Local media showed video of people marching past Penn Station toward downtown Thursday night. Hundreds of protesters marched in the street, bringing traffic to a standstill. Some demonstrators blocked roads and sat in the streets, police said. Otherwise, the majority of demonstrators have been peaceful.

Another group could be seen gathered around the Washington Monument, waving signs and flags and chanting.

Baltimore police said two people were detained during the protests, but no one has been charged. Police did not give any further information about why the two people were taken into custody.
