PULASKI (WSLS 10) – Success at the recently renovated Calfee Park has the home of the Pulaski Yankees getting another face-lift this off-season.

The outfield is now being replaced with 100 percent Bermuda grass to match the infield. This is the first major field surface work since the park was built in 1935. The changes are expected to bring a faster pace to the baseball games.

There will also be about 100 new seats added to general admission.

This comes in response to the Yankees scoring the best attendance record in the Appalachian League for the second season in a row.

“Last year, we were able to host different events here at the ballpark like movie nights and NCAA games,” said Pulaski Yankees general manager Blair Hoke. “We think we brought some additional foot traffic in that may not have come during a regular game, and we saw them again during the season.”

Because of the high attendance, general admission tickets will drop to $5 for the 2017 season.
