(WSLS 10) - Leaf collection begins today in Martinsville. On Mondays and Fridays for the rest of the year, crews will collect leaves that are placed in plastic bags. The bags must be smaller that 56 gallons and placed at the back of the curb.

The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors holds a special meeting today. The board will talk about the County Administrator position. The position opened up earlier this year when Clarence Monday resigned.

The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors meets today. The board will talk about student recruitment and retention efforts, inclusiveness and innovation. It will also consider two new graduate level programs.

Roanoke, Salem and Roanoke County will proclaim next week the Week of the Family. It was first recognized in 1968 by former Indianapolis teacher and administrator. The week focuses on strengthening families through strong social networks and economic opportunities.

The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors will meet in closed session today. Members will talk the future of Motor Mile Park and the Technology Manufacturing Building.
