COON RAPIDS, Minn. (MEDIA GENERAL) -- An emotional video posted by Tami Serna, of Otsego, Minnesota, is going viral today.

The video, shared to the "Love What Matters" Facebook page, shows the Coon Rapids Police Department offering Serna's father, Denny Preston, a final salute.

Tami shared the video, taken Monday, Oct. 24, outside of Preston's house. According to Serna, after a long battle with cancer, Preston had made the decision to enter hospice care, living at home for his final days. Preston worked for the Coon Rapids Police Department for 26 years and had retired 16 years earlier, but he wasn't forgotten.

CRPD officers arranged a police escort for Preston from the hospital to his house and had officers lined up his driveway to greet him.

According to another Facebook post, Preston died the next day.
