Roanoke County represented at National Blue Ribbon School awards ceremony

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) -  Three representatives from Roanoke County were honored Monday in Arlington, Virginia after being named a Blue Ribbon School.

Green Valley Elementary School principal Ashley McCallum, teacher Laura Zebosky and Superintendent Dr. Greg Killough attended the presentation.

The U.S. Secretary of Education John King Junior is honoring the 330 National Blue Ribbon Schools at an awards ceremony. Tunstall High School in Pittsylvania County was also named a Blue Ribbon School this year. The program honors public and private schools whose students achieve at very high levels or made significant progress and helped close achievement gaps.
