Virginia’s Veterans Parade honors those who have served

ROANOKE (WSLS 10)- The Seventh Annual Virginia’s Veterans Parade will march through Star City today, November 5th, 2016.

The parade will kick off at 11 A.M. at the corner of Jefferson Street and Campbell Avenue.

Marching it’s way through downtown, the parade will wrap up at Market Square around 1 P.M..

Several roads in Downtown Roanoke will be closed due to the parade starting at eight this morning

  • Williamson Road will be closed between Salem Avenue and Franklin Road.
  • Church Avenue will be closed between Williamson Road and Jefferson Street. The Hampton Inn will remain accessible.vaveteransparademap
  • Market Street will be closed between Campbell Avenue and Church Avenue.
  • Elm Avenue Westbound will be closed between Williamson Road and Jefferson Street.
  • Kirk Avenue will be closed between Jefferson Street and Williamson Road.
  • Jefferson Street will be closed between Elm Avenue and Salem Avenue.
  • Campbell Avenue will be closed between 1st Street SW and Williamson Road.

These roads will remain closed until 1 P.M..
