South Boston police investigating after 19-year-old shot and killed


SOUTH BOSTON (WSLS 10) – South Boston police are investigating a fatal shooting which happened on Thursday afternoon.

At about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to Bane Street in the Westside Trailer Park for a report of a person that had been shot.

Officers say they found 19-year-old DreQuan Tyrell Hubbard, of South Boston, seated in a black Ford Fusion with apparent gunshot wounds.

He was transported to the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The incident is still under investigation by the South Boston Police Department, according to Chief Jim Binner.
