Designs for Danville's Riverfront Park unveiled

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - We're getting our first look at the potential design of Danville's much-anticipated Riverfront Park.

Two different designs have been developed and the city's parks and rec department is now looking for feedback on the designs.

Both include a splash pad, which is the number one thing people said they wanted.

Both also include a play area, a large green space, and a boat launch.

The park will be built in the open area along the river between the MLK bridge and the White Mill building.

"The next step after we come up with a concept, a final concept, will be a cost estimate. Then, from the cost estimate that'll give us a better idea of what kind of funds we'll need to raise," explained Emily Ragsdale, the parks and rec department's facilities and services planner.

There is no timeline yet for when construction will begin.
