Salem music store to close after 74 years

SALEM (WSLS 10) - A dowtown Salem music store is set to close its doors.

The owners of Ridenhour Music announced they will retire.

The business, started in 1942 by Elmer Ridenhour, was then sold to his son, Jim, in 1982.

Now, after 34 years, the family has decided to retire the music business.

A retirement sale will begin on Thursday, November 3, at the Salem location on Wise Avenue.

The liquidation sale runs through December.
