Virginia Tech hosts forum on refugee crisis

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - It was standing room only inside a Virginia Tech classroom on Wednesday for a discussion on the current refugee crisis.

The forum featured four panelists who either work with refugees or have been one themselves. They presented to dozens of people about everything from the screening process, to legal red tape, to national security approaches.

The panel said there are now 65.3 million forcibly displaced people worldwide.

Virginia Tech partnered with the International Refugee Assistance Project to host the forum. IRAP provides legal guidance to refugees around the world.
