Tequila bar opening in Roanoke on Thursday

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - If you're looking for an escape but don't want to go too far, there's a unique restaurant opening in Roanoke that hopes to help.

Tuco's Taqueria Garaje is opening its doors this week. The restaurant is located on Salem Avenue, across the street from Beamer's 25 in downtown Roanoke.

Managers said the restaurant will serve tacos and offer close to 90 different tequilas. They said they want to create a fun, laid-back atmosphere where people can order a cocktail made from scratch while enjoying authentic Mez-Cal food.

"We hired a really great mural artist from Mexico City and he did some great mural work inside," said Danielle Gonzalez, Tuco's General Manager. "We just wanted people to have a great experience and to feel like you are not in Roanoke, just have a little escape.'

Gonzalez said staff have their own space to grow fresh foods that the restaurant can use in their specialty drinks and meals.

Tuco's officially opens at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 3.
