Holiday deals that can save you money now

WTNH – NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) - It may seem too early to talk about holiday shopping, but in the retail world, it has officially begun. Whether you're a fan of Christmas coming early or not, 'tis the season at least to save a lot of money!  Here are a look at some great deals you that may help you save money on just about anything over the night couple months.

Target and Best buy are both offering free shipping all season long. So save yourself the money of gas to shop in person.

Amazon has already rolled out  Black Friday-like deals already. There's now a "deal of the day" section on their website. The company says they'll roll out new discounts there sometimes hourly leading up to the holiday. I checked it out and found you can save on everyday items like laundry detergent or things like winter coats or toys if you want to start checking things off your list.

Money.com is also reporting, to compete with Amazon, Walmart is staffing "holiday helpers" to specifically help you find gifts and make purchases easier. So with a little luck, things will at least become less stressful for you.

Also, now is a great time to think about layaway which is a great way to ease the financial burden this time of year can have. And money says Kmart and Toys R US are offering special offers for people who take advantage of layaway that could focus on price matching.

Consumer Reports also released a gift-giving guide to help with gift ideas. They'll rate products to help you pick out what's best for the people on your list or at least the list you'll eventually have.
