Danville man charged with arson after fire causes $20k in damages to home

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - One man has been charged with arson after a fire damaged a home in Danville.

57-year-old John Lee Petty, of Danville, has been charged with arson in connection to a house fire that happened at about 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, at 904 Colquhoun Street.

Witnesses say that no one was inside the home and crews found fires burning in four different locations in the home.

The fire department says the fire caused $20,000 of damage to the home.

The fire marshal's office investigated determined the fire to be caused by arson, and has charged John Lee Petty, who lived at the home.

Petty is being held at the city jail without bond.
