PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Pittsylvania County man was sentenced after deputies said he tried to kill his ex-girlfriend.
Michael Morrison will spend 25 years in prison.
Morrison received 10 years for attempted first-degree murder, five years for attempted arson, and 10 years for felony hit and run, according to the Pittsylvania County circuit court's website.
He was also ordered to pay $1,585 in court costs.
He was accused of ramming into his ex-girlfriend's car in March, busting out her window with a tire iron, and then pouring gasoline on her.
In August, Morrison pleaded not guilty to the charges.
