It happened around 1:10 a.m. Sunday morning along the 2300 block of Lee Highway near route 608.

Police say the driver, 17-year-old Trystan Lowdermilk ran off the road, hit several trees and an embankment, before the car flipped.

Police say Lowdermilk was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

A 16-year-old girl was also thrown from the car and not wearing a seatbelt.

She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
