DANVILLE (WSLS 10) – The Danville Fire Department responded to an early morning house fire Sunday morning at 81 Glen Oak Drive.

According to the Danville Fire Department Captain Billy Scearce, fire could be seen coming from the single story home when firefighters first arrived at the scene.

Three engines, one ladder truck, three support vehicles and the Regional One EMS responded to the 911 call.

Scearce says the house was unable to be saved, but despite heavy smoke and fire damage, crews were able to get the fire under control with about an hour.

In all, it took firefighters around four hours on the scene to mitigate the fire. No one was at home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

The fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
