Motorcycle ride raises money for AGAPE center in Moneta

MONETA (WSLS 10) - Dozens of motorcyclists hit the road to support a good cause. The "Ride for Hope" took place in Moneta on Saturday. Motorcyclists gathered at Radford Baptist Church to take part in the 60 mile ride.

This is the second year for the event. Organizers said last year they had 82 motorcycle riders participate and this year there were over 100 that went on the ride. Organizers said the event raised over $1500 for the AGAPE center in Moneta. The center provides life counseling, food, clothes and oher supplies for people in need.

The ride is sponsored by Radford Baptist Church and Organized by the Smith Mountain Lake chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA). Organiers said several motorcycle groups represented from Roanoke, Lynchburg and other areas including Christian Motorcyclists Association, Faith Riders, Empty Tomb Ministry, ABATE, Bikers for Christ, Patriot Guard Riders, Gold Wing Riders Association, Wheel Within a Wheel, and more.
