Danville Police patrol car hit by gunfire

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) – A Danville Police patrol car was hit by gunfire Friday night.

According to Danville Police, officers responded to reports of a large group fighting in the 500 block of Chatham Ave. before 10 p.m.

When police arrived, several gunshots were heard and a marked Danville patrol car was hit.

The officer operating the car was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation.
