(WSLS 10) – Head to Narrows for the town’s annual Fall Festival. There will be vendors, music, food, carriage rides, a kids area and more. The festival is Saturday from noon to 9 p.m.

The Martinsville-Henry County SPCA holds the Howl-o-ween Costume 5K Run. It’s a timed race where you get to run through town in your costume. Registration starts at 6 p.m. with the race beginning at 7 p.m. Awards will be given to runners as well as to those wearing the best costumes.

Christiansburg Parks and Rec holds events for Halloween. On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Rec Center, explore different trucks from the fire and police departments as well as VDOT and public works. There’s also the Getting Scary on the Huckleberry 5K run. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. with the run starting at 9 a.m.

The Salem Farmers’ Market is home to Pumpkinfest on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It features a pumpkin carving, a costume contest and pumpkin give-away as well as food. Before the fun begins, kids will have the chance to trick or treat through downtown starting at 10 a.m.

The Lynchburg Community Market in the home to Harvest Fest on Saturday. There’s a cook-off, where chefs will make fall dishes using local produce, kids activities and music. Head to the Lynchburg Community Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for this event.

The Franklin County Family YMCA holds the first ever Fall Festival and Pumpkin Olympics. Enjoy a bake sale, games, crafts and a pumpkin toss competition. The festival is 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Author Beth Macy will be at the Jacksonville Center for the Arts in Floyd County to talk about her newest book, Truevine. Macy describes the book as a story about race, greed an the circus. The event begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
