ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The investigation into the cause of the fire at the former Roanoke School administration building continues as evidence is seized in relation to the case.
Carilion police arrested a man at Roanoke Memorial for being drunk who also had outstanding warrants against him after the call for the fire came in, according to a search warrant.
The document shows Larry Wade was covered in soot, had burn holes in his clothes and a strong smell of smoke.
The warrant was issued in relation to the burning or destroying of a dwelling.
Meanwhile, Roanoke Fire EMS said firefighters tore down walls of the building on Reserve Avenue to get to the seat of the fire to put it out.
