PHCC baseball team presents charity game check to Franklin County Challengers

HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) – The Franklin County Challengers baseball team has an extra $700 to help them travel to next year’s regional tournament in Virginia Beach.

Patrick Henry Community College’s baseball team presented the check to the Challengers’ coach on Wednesday.

The money is from a charity game the two teams played earlier this month to help raise money for the Challengers.

The Challengers’ team is made up of players from around the area with physical or mental disabilities.

This past spring, the team didn’t have enough money to go to the tournament in Virginia Beach, so the players missed their favorite game of the year.
