Charges dropped against man charged in connection to Roanoke nightclub shooting

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Both the malicious wounding and second-degree murder charges have been dropped against 24-year-old Jermaine Brown.

Brown was charged in connection to the deadly shooting at Monsters Bar & Grill on Orange Avenue in early September.

Prosecutors do; however, have the option to bring back those charges, according to assistant commonwealth's attorney Josh Dietz.

Dietz said they choose to drop the charges because there is quite a bit of evidence that needs to be reviewed.

He said they're also waiting for evidence that's being processed at the forensic lab to come back.
