Police investigating anti-semitic graffiti near UVA

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WSLS 10) - Police are investigating anti-semitic graffiti that was spray painted on a student apartment complex near the University of Virginia.

Police say that one wall of the Grand-Marc Apartments was spray painted with a star of David and other markings.

UVA students who practice Judaism say the vandalism is offensive.

Sammi Rappaport, a 3rd year UVA student says "The whole idea of putting something like that up is to basically tell Jewish students that you're not welcome here to not be very religious and to still so so hurt by something like that its i think it definitely says something."

Charlottesville police say they are looking for more evidence but urge anyone with information to call crimestoppers.
