Pastor William Lee retires after nearly 40 years of leading congregation

ROANOKE (WSLS10) – A pastor in Roanoke who has served the community for nearly 4 decades steps down for the pulpit. Reverend William Lee of Loudon Avenue Christian Church gave his last sermon Sunday morning.

He’s been at the church since 1977 and during his time there he’s formed relationships with different church dominations in the city. One of his biggest achievement is being the founder of New Horizons Health Care which is a medical and dental facility in Roanoke.

“I always wanted to say hey I wanted a community church that was a magnet, a hub for the community and I think we did that,” Reverend William Lee said.

Lee said he plans to enjoy having weekends off.
