Heritage Festival happens Saturday in Pembroke

PEMBROKE (WSLS 10) -   A twenty-seven year tradition in Giles County happens this Saturday.

Crowds will gather to Snidow Street in downtown Pembroke for the annual Heritage Day Festival.

Craft vendors, along with those selling food and other goods will be set up throughout the day.

This years event features a petting zoo for children along with a blacksmith demonstration.

One of the most beloved traditions of the event is the famous apple butter.

Organizers Wendell Brown and Billy Bowles say Pembroke Methodist Church made two kettles before the event to sell at the festival.

The Church will continue making apple butter on site to demonstrate for the crowd.

The event happens from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Streets will be blocked from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
