The Hope Center continues to push for help to remain open

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The Hope Center in Roanoke raised nearly $300 on Friday during a fundraiser designed to help keep the center open.

The money raised will go towards cleaning supplies for a community neighborhood clean-up day. Leftover funds will go towards The Hope Center.

"We believe that if we show the city of Roanoke the influence that we have on this community, in this neighborhood, that hopefully more people will be more willing to help us out," said the center's founder Grover Price.

The community clean-up day is set for November 7.
