ROANOKE (WSLS 10) – A 27-year-old man arrived at the hospital after being shot in the leg on Friday afternoon, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

Anthony Isharad Jordan, of Roanoke, arrived at the ER at Lewis Gale at 12:48 p.m.

Police said the shooting happened in the 3400 block of Bennett Drive NW, at the Ashton Heights Apartments.

At about 12:25 p.m., dispatch had received a shots fired call from that block.

Officers alerted local hospitals that the victim might arrive via a vehicle other than an ambulance because the victim was not there on Bennett Drive once they arrived.

The investigation is ongoing.
