WSLS 10 Shred-A-Thon protecting identities in Roanoke

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) -The WSLS 10 Shred-A-Thon is back and coming to five cities in five weeks, helping to secure the identity of thousands in the region.

Catch us on Monday, November 21 at Schewels at 3602 Ferncliff Avenue in Roanoke for the final Shred-A-Thon of the year.

In its fifth Shred-A-Thon event season, WSLS 10 will again partner with Kodiak Shredding and Schewels.

Including this fall's first four events, 1,817,000 pounds of paper have been shredded and recycled since the very first Shred-A-Thon.

From October 24 through November 21, all Virginians are encouraged to visit the five designated locations to have their sensitive information securely shredded.

The fall's first stop was in Rocky Mount, followed by Lynchburg on Halloween. On November 7, people dropped off 105,000 pounds in Christiansburg. On November 14 and 15, we collected 18,000 pounds of documents to be shredded in Danville.

This event is free and there is no limit on how much anyone can bring. All residents and businesses are welcome to visit each WSLS 10 Shred-A-Thon site from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m.
