Red Ribbon week kicks off next week


ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) – Local schools are getting ready for Red Ribbon Week.

Red Ribbon Week raises awareness of drug use and the problems related to drugs facing our community, and encourages parents, educators, business owners, and other community organizations to promote drug-free lifestyles

Cave Spring Middle School hand out Red Ribbons starting Monday.

The entire school will be decorated in Red and during lunch the students will take a Pledge to Not Do Drugs!

Other activities include Daily Announcements with local facts of drug and alcohol usages.

Ex-baseball player Terrence Engles will share his story on how drugs impacted his life.
