WYTHE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Wytheville Community College is hosting a truck driving program that will help people find new jobs.
The six-week course allows students to get experience driving an 18-wheeler and workers said the course typically costs about $4,500; however, due to grants, students only have to $150 to participate if they meet certain criteria.
Instructors said the program has a 93-percent job placement rating.
"I feel like I have a very satisfying job, you know if I can get someone up here that's unemployed and help them get back in the working world, for a lot of our students it's a life changing decision," explained Bill Reeves, the assistant truck driving instructor at the college.
The program kicks off Monday.
