(WSLS 10) - The trial begins today for a Patrick County woman, charged with attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, along with other charges. The Patrick County Sheriff Reed tried to run over a deputy in May as he tried to arrest her and then drove head on toward his car during a police chase.

A former Roanoke City employee is expected to enter a guilty plea in court today. Erin Wray was indicted on two counts of felony embezzlement in July. According to Roanoke City Attorney Dan Callaghan, Wray was a Collection Specialist for the city from 2014 to 2016.
