Trial date set for man charged in Lyon sisters' murder

BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The man charged with the murder of the Lyon sisters will be back in a court in Bedford County.

According to online court records, Lloyd Lee Welch Jr. will go before a judge for a pre-trial motions hearing.

Welch is charged with killing Katherine and Sheila Lyon.

The two disappeared from a Maryland shopping mall 40 years ago.

Their remains were never found, but are believed to be buried in Bedford County.

If convicted, Welch could face the death penalty.

His jury trial will start in April. It was originally set for March but has been postponed twice.
