Teens rescue friend from burning car

Andrew Colegrove, WSAZ – FLATWOODS, Ky. (WSAZ) - Two Kentucky teens came through in heroic fashion when they found themselves in a life or death situation over the weekend.

Raceland High School students Brad Blevins and Bradley Miller were driving on Caroline Road in Flatwoods when a speeding car tried to pass them from behind.

The driver lost control, went off the road, and crashed into a tree.

The teens saw the two people in the wrecked vehicle were their classmates.

They say the driver was knocked out of the car, but Brandon York was trapped in the passenger seat, and the car was smoking.

"I look up, and there are flames shooting up from the engine compartment," Blevins said, "so I'm freaking out, but I had to keep my cool."
