Lynchburg police investigating attempted armed robbery

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) – Lynchburg police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that happened late Friday night at a BB&T bank.

On October 14, at about 10/14/2016 at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of the BB&T bank at 2120 Langhorne Road for an attempted armed robbery.

When they arrived, the victim reported that while she was attempting to make a nightly deposit drop, a man appeared, showed a gun and demanded money.

She was able to drive away in her car and the suspect, who’s described as a 6-foot black man, ran away.

Security footage shows that all of this happened in about an 8-second window.

There were no injuries reported.
